News - Spring has sprung on the Shugborough Estate

Spring has sprung on the Shugborough Estate Spring has sprung at Shugborough and schools across the county are being invited to enjoy a day out at the estate.

A variety of educational packages are avaliable to schools including seasonal Easter themes and a new activity investigating Shugborough's most influential resident Thomas Anson.

The county council managed attraction is encouraging teachers to book now for spring and early summer tours. Activities can be based around spring time or Easter themes including traditional Easter baking or meeting spring babies at the farm.

The estate offers many other tours including Victorian toys and games, life as a servant and exploring the walled garden.

A new local history study activity has also been launched this spring. Shugborough's most influential resident, Thomas Anson, makes a perfect subject for local history study. Students can use historical enquiry and investigate skills to uncover this Georgian character's love of art, botany, sculpture and landscape. Schools will use actual Shugborough artefacts to find out about Thomas Anson and explore the garden landscape to learn about important flowers and plants of the time.

For more information please see Shugborough's activity page.
