Churnet Valley Railway
Established by the North Staffs Railway Company, a visit to the Churnet Valley Railway includes a 10.5 mile, round steam train journey, travelling through the picturesque Churnet Valley.
As well as operating a Steam Heritage Railway the museum collects, conserves and displays a wide range of railway artefacts, many of which are on display at the grade 2 listed victorian station at Cheddleton. |

Additional Information |
The museum gives a wonderful insight into the development and operation of the railway transport system from the mid 1800s to the decline of steam in the late sixties. It is also an important gateway to the Churnet Valley rich with its industrial history especially mineral extraction and displays the development of early methosd of transportation from incline plateways to the advent of James Brindleys canal system.
All this is brought together to provide a stimulating educational day out with an exciting steam train ride through history.
