Shugborough - Lifetime and Landscape: Thomas Anson
Meet Shugborough's most influential character, Thomas Anson - the man who shaped the estate as we see it today. This cross-curricular tour encourages children to use enquiry methods to find out about Thomas as a collector, botanist and patron of the arts. As part of the tour the grounds and gardens are explored and the medicinal and cleaning uses of plants and plant material discussed, and artefacts within the house are examined to learn more about this key figure in history. This activity links with History, Science, Botany, Geography, Art and Citizenship and a pack is avaliable for this resource for use in the classroom and during the visit.
